The Course
There really is no mystery to delivering a timber deck that will beyond your expectations. But it doesn't happen by accident. Many small points of detail must be attended to.
I have a full day course on the coastal decks which delves very deeply into the subject. However, this course is a good introduction and will allow you to grasp the key design issues that impact adversely on service life.
The contents of the course are based on formal research projects, years of delivering successful design and supply projects and much observation.
What you will learn
You are going to learn things that are not usually taught in university or TAFE. There is a very big difference between designing for strength as you do with roof trusses and designing for durability as is essential with decks. Durability is first, second, and third in all your external design considerations.
