Why you need this guide

Most hardwood is sold as being graded to AS2082 with designations such as F14. This is a perfectly adequate specification for roof trusses but not for weather exposed timber.

There the critical factors are Durability, stability, shrinkage and appearance which are not dealt with at all or adequately in the standard.
